However, the same verse does exist within the King James version. It’s just that the word “Justified” is used instead.
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Theres a lot of back and forth in these comments. Heres the way I think about it when I tell people about Jesus and how He saves us from our sin and allows us to live eternally with Him in heaven. I imagine going to heaven and having each and every person I have ever met who was not saved and is now living eternally in hell, coming up to me and saying, “why didn’t you tell me!?” I do not make comments or witness to offend anyone, simply to give them some info that their heart might want.

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Christmas to me means happy memories of childhood, family and I don’t see why I should ban the word or not take part, or have to spend the day with a couple of atheist friends, avoiding doing anything traditional and calling it “solstice” instead

@Raymesa1
Many cultures have had a midwinter festival, and feasting, presents, decorations, greenery in the home, songs etc are not specifically Christian. Even if you don’t have any religious beliefs anymore, you can still enjoy the rest of it. However I do respect Jesus for some of the things he said and generally don’t mind doing something associated with his birth (even if there is no proof it was on December 25 – the reason for choosing it was the Romans already celebrated then).

I don’t. It’s just the traditional name for the winter celebration in the west these days and a lot of its content hasn’t much to do with Christianity (the Puritans in Britain in the 17th Century tried to ban it for being too Pagan). I don’t think it matters to call it Christmas any more than calling Thursday after a Norse god, or January after a Roman one. There was a book published in Britain recently called The Atheists’ Guide to Christmas, which was full of atheists saying why they enjoy it
